NICOLA SANI, Ferrara 1961. Studies in composition with Domenico Guaccero and Karlheinz Stockhausen and electronic music composition with Giorgio Nottoli. Author of stage and dance operas, intermedia works, symphonic and chamber compositions, performed worldwide. He is currently artistic director of Accademia Chigiana in Siena, president of the National Institute of Verdi Studies, Parma, board member of “Archivio Luigi Nono”, Venice, artistic advisor of IUC – University Concert Institution, Rome. He has been general manager of Teatro Comunale di Bologna, artistic director of Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and president of the “Isabella Scelsi Foundation ” of Rome, entitled to the management of the cultural legacy of the composer Giacinto Scelsi), as well as board member of Opera-Europa in Brussels. Main awards: “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Ministry of Culture; “New Connections Award” by the British Council; “Scanno Prize” for Music.
